Ichanka translates as “Water of the Condor” (“I” = water). The little hamlet of Ichanka, located on the Estate, was an important source of spring water to the indigenous Diaguitas. This secret water source was discovered courtesy of the Condors that would be seen hovering over the spring.
The Diaguitas believed the Condor was the closest creature to divinity and was considered a messenger of the spirits.
Our Vichigasta Vineyard wines are produced using only the best grapes from special plots within our vineyard. The grapes are hand-picked and carefully transported to the winery in small bins to avoid premature crushing.
Ichanka Sañogasta is a limited production wine that combines the fruity characteristics of our wines with traditional oak treatment producing wines of great depth and balance.
